The development of the Redeye Dodge will not be particularly hard. The Hellcat’s 6.2-liter V8 Hemi gets a larger supercharger, stronger connecting rods and pistons, a new valvetrain and improved fuel supply and oil circulation. All parts are from the Demon.

With the new engine sprints the coupe in 3.4 seconds to 60 miles per hour (96.6 km / h), runs 327 km / h top and completes the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds. Depending on the application, two rear axle ratios are available. A short improves the acceleration, the long increases the final speed to the specified value.

The regular 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat still exists. His performance increases from 717 to 727 hp. Optically, only minor changes to the model year change. The hood gets two additional air intakes (“double snorkel”). Wide wheel arches (plus 9 centimeters, as in the Demon) were already available in the 2018 model.

The widenings on all fenders make room for huge wheels. Dodge offers forged alloy wheels in 11 x 20 inches with 305/35 Pirelli tires all around. As standard, a burn-out function is included: The “Line Lock” blocks the front wheels. This allows Hellcat pilots to warm up the rear tires in front of the quarter mile race.

2019 Dodge Challenger Design and Color

The 2019 Dodge Challenger update focuses on the harsh Challenger versions. In addition to the Hellcat models benefited especially the Challenger R / T Scat Pack (formerly Challenger SRT). He gets the bonnet of the old Hellcat models, the burnout function, a better chassis and optional the wide body. With it the Challenger on the racetrack should be faster. It remains with the 6.4-liter V8 sucker with 492 hp.

What will probably never change in the 2019 Dodge Challenger is the muscle play. This car is the successor of a famous muscle car. This can be seen at first glance from the outside, at the latest with the wheel arch attachments. But it is above all the details that count. Dodge does not name the paints after racetracks or feelings, they sound like power and violence. A few examples: Destroyer Gray, Octane Red, White Knuckle or Go Mango. Some of these fabrics come from the 1970s, the great era of muscle cars.
